A good day cos I
only spent on
one thing - unfortunately, the 'thing' was a visit to the supermarket,
the bill for which came to £47.23.

Went for a day out at Southport Pleasure beach. Managed to get some
vouchers off a neighbour, whose child we took with us, which afforded
us free entry to the Pleasure Beach, which was a splendid start!
It was a very hot day and we had a great time, but because it was so
hot, we spent £14.95 on drinks and ice-creams. Then on the
way
home, we had tea out at a pub - the missus went halves with me, but my
(larger) half came to £31..30, plus a couple of quid for the
tip
for the waitress.

Spent
another £26.99 at the supermarket, partly to buy the stuff
for a
picnic on a day out tomorrow, and transferred £5 to
the
play monday lottery site and spent a pound of that buying a ticket for
this Monday so I can win a million and retire to France.

Today was another bad one spending-wise. Had to draw 200
quid
cash off my co-op credit card, so I could pay it into my current
account, cos I'd spent too much cash. This isn't a bad thing in itself,
it's just that if you have to spend on the card, it's cheaper to just
use the card to buy the goods in the first place as they charge you for
giving you cash.
Also had to spend £3.95 on some hayfever medicine
for the
sprog, plus another £3.88 at the supermarket, plus a quid on
two
tins of pop at work (it was my turn to buy), and had to give the missus
50 quid for two pairs of jeans I got off her next catalogue - a decent
pair for going out and a cheap pair for work. On the plus side I got
back 80 quid for some more Shane ward tickets I bought on the internet
for another friend!

Good
day today,
I got and banked a cheque reimbursing me for 3 Shane Ward tickets I
bought for a friend as they didn't have internet access, so
£90
back into the depleted coffers!!!!!!!!
Also
spent another £28.35 on food and stuff from the supermarket.
Total
spent today £28.35 money saved £90.00!!

Finally
got my
car into the garage today. Dropped it off in the morning, walked to the
train station and bought a return ticket for only ten pence
more
than the price of a single ticket, (now there's money saving
for
you!!!!), and walked from the train station to work.
Got
back to the
garage at night expecting a hefty bill around the £100 mark.
They
said it was just a broken bracket on the anti-rollbar, which they had
replaced, and that my bill was, wait for
it.........................£20!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I nearly
fell
through the floor. (Now there really is money saving for you!)
Actually, joking apart, I've used this garage 3 times now and every
time I'm pleasantly surprised by the size of the bill! I'm not saying
they work for free, but they don't charge you for a load of work you
don't need and they charge very reasonably for the work they do. I
can't recommend them enough. (They do MOTs too!). So if you're in the
East Manchester area, and you need a good garage you should try them!
Obviously I can't give their name as that'd be advertising and I
haven't asked their permission, but they're at 298 Ashton Old Road and
they're named after the train station in that area!
Other
than that just spent more money on food at the supermarket and bought
the sprog an ice-cream from the ice-cream van.
Total
money out
£49.28, total money saved £4.50 not spent on petrol
driving
to work and back and £??.?? for not going to a less reputable
garage!
5th June 2006
Another
bad day for spending. Started the day by having to fill the car up with
petrol, the price of which is extortionate these days -
£47.77!
Then later in
the evening, we had tickets to go and see Journey in concert
at
the Apollo. So we had to get my dad to babysit, so we had to do some
shopping so we could make him his tea, (plus buy some food for the rest
of the week for us) - £39.24.
Then because we
were really late, we had to get ourselves into town, where we went to
the Royal Orchid for a nice Thai meal, then to the pub behind the
Apollo, where we met some friends and had a few beers, then to watch
the concert, then afterwards a couple more beers, then managed to get a
lift home off one of our friends, saving the taxi fare, meaning we only
had to pay for my dad's taxi home - total for that lot £94.90
-
Ouch!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Money spent today £181.91, money saved today £0.00
